Jasmine Davenport-Murray, Registered Environmental Health Specialist has been in the food safety industry for 17 years. During the past 17 years she has audited and provided food safety consultation for restaurants, business facilities, manufacturing facilities, university cafeterias, nursing homes, hotels, and medical facilities. Jasmine has effectively worked through all aspects of dining program management including the development of HACCP plans for several companies, which includes developing and monitoring their procedures to keep food safe and reduce the risk of foodborne illness. She has worked as a Microbiologist testing foods for pathogens and has a certification in FDA requirements, HACCP, and OSHA regulations.
Jasmine has vast knowledge and understanding of best practices, operations, trends, and standards in culinary/food service. She has been a certified Instructor and proctor for Servsafe under the National Restaurant Association for 12 years. Jasmine is also a instructor for the State of Illinois and City of Chicago Certified Food Service Sanitation Manager Programs.
My interactive teaching strategy in not something that developed overnight, or even in one or two years. It has been a gradual process of trial and error. Whereas students often lose interest during lecture-style teaching, interactive teaching styles promote an atmosphere of attention and participation.

Information About The Illinois Law
Effective January 1, 2018
The Illinois Department of Public Health will not be issuing a state manager certificate/license as of January 1, 2018. Managers will no longer need to submit the $35 state fee for the state certificate. The ANSI/CFP manager certification (i.e. ServSafe Manager Certificate) will be proof that state requirements have been met.
Illinois Law requires all food handler in the state of Illinois have ANSI Accredited Food Handler Training starting July 1, 2014. New hires have 30 days from the date of hire to obtain the training.
A food handler is defined by law as a person who works in a food facility and performs any duties that involve the preparation, storage or service of food in a food facility.
